The Internet Moved On, And So Should Your Strategy.
Look, I love a good keyword strategy as much as the next marketer. But if you’re still treating SEO like it’s 2015, we need to talk.
Today’s search landscape is fragmented. AI-generated answers, zero-click results, and evolving user behavior mean traditional SEO tactics aren’t enough to carry your brand.
But here’s the real kicker: Younger generations don’t even start their search on Google.
They’re going to TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, or their group chat with 30 unread messages. They want social proof, peer recommendations, and fast, visual answers.
Meanwhile, Millennials and Gen X might still use Google or LLM tools like ChatGPT. But, they’re also checking YouTube, scanning reviews, and stalking your Instagram before they ever buy.
Search is no longer linear. It’s a hot mess of tabs, apps, and “Wait, where did I see that?” moments. So if your entire strategy is:
- “Let’s rank on Google,”
 - “Hope they click like it’s 2015,”
 - “Make lotsa money”

You’re missing the actual customer journey, and it’s not coming back to save you.
What Brands Need to Do Now
- Show up across multiple platforms (search, social, video, review sites, forums, etc)
 - Create content that answers real questions, not just ranks for keywords
 - Build a brand people want to search for, and be a part of versus stumbling across… Even better, build a brand people want to type in directly

This isn’t about ditching SEO. It’s about being a chess master playing on more than one board at a time.
Because if you’re only showing up in one channel, you’re basically the Blockbuster of marketing in a Video Streaming world.
